Child Therapy Fees

Steady Ground Child Therapy aims to provide accessible support for children during times of emotional stress and family transition.

Individual child therapy sessions are $150 per 45-minute session. Payment is required at the time of the session via EFTPOS.

Steady Ground Child Therapy is a private fee-for-service practice and does not offer NDIS-funded fees or Medicare rebates under Mental Health Care Plans. Funding through the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) may be accepted where approved.

Referrals from Professionals

A referral is not required to access therapy. Referrals are welcome from parents, schools, family lawyers, mediators, GPs and allied professionals seeking child-focused therapeutic support for children experiencing emotional challenges as a result of family separation.

Professionals are welcome to submit an enquiry through the contact form below. Please place your contact name and company name in the Parent/First/Last name sections on the form.

Please note: Therapy notes are non-reportable and not intended for legal or court documentation.

Cancellation Policy and Punctuality

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur the full session fee, as this time has been set aside specifically for your child.

Sessions run for 45 minutes. If your child arrives late, the session will still finish at the scheduled time to ensure sessions run on time for all children and families.

Confidentiality and Consent

Your child’s privacy is important. Sessions are confidential, with information only shared where required by law or if there is a concern about safety.

When parents are separated, therapy works best when both parents are aware of and support their child’s involvement. Where both parents hold parental responsibility, consent from both parents is generally required before therapy can begin, unless a court order states otherwise.

Any existing parenting orders or agreements will be respected and followed.

Court and Legal Matters

Therapy is focused on supporting your child’s emotional well-being and is not intended for use in legal proceedings.

Steady Ground Child Therapy does not provide court reports, assessments, or legal opinions. Session notes are confidential clinical records and are not prepared for court purposes.

If information is formally requested through a subpoena or court order, the time required to prepare documentation, respond to documentation requests, or attend court will be charged at an additional professional rate.

Steady Ground Child Therapy supports families across Macleod, Heidelberg, Rosanna, Ivanhoe, Preston and surrounding Northern Suburbs.
